The Civil Association Corps of Volunteer Firefighters of Nicaragua showed grateful to the Sandinista Government, for all the support given to continue its humanitarian work for the benefit of nicaraguans and the strengthening of the Search and Rescue Unit.
“Today, we can say that we are well prepared and trained, that when an emergency comes up we can give an answer to the nicaraguans,” said Commander Jaime Delgado, president of the Association.
In addition, it revealed that have a new uniform with visible colors regulated internationally, which will allow them to be better identified and for which it had the support of the Commander Daniel Ortega, and the Companion Rosario Murillo.
“This show of affection on the part of the Government toward the fire department has been recognized by all the companions and all the commanders of the country, because it once again demonstrates that the Government is interested that the volunteer firefighters will continue to grow and strengthen and we can give you, in return, to all the nicaraguans that work is done 24 hours a day,” he said.
Announced that were recently incorporated into the Confederation of Fire departments of the central American Isthmus, “and that is good because they share information and accomplishments, because at the end of the account we have to work and Nicaragua has been the example of that unification”.
Unique canine certified
In addition, this Unit features the unique canine internationally certified in the country, in search of people buried under rubble. This is Misha, a dog of breed Labrador with 6 years of age and whose certification was earned in Guatemala in the method of ARCON.
Sterling Borge, guide dog certificate, he said that they are looking for economic resources to carry out a course with the method of ARCON in the month of October to be able to certify more dogs.
The method ARCON potentiates the autonomy, motivation and concentration of the dog to locate persons in the shortest time possible.
The Association is comprised of 44 firefighters in the Rescue Unit, 7 certified divers in search in water and in the technique canine 4 companions.
He mentioned that the Unit has equipment in more than 50 thousand dollars and has had a lot of support from the Government to be able to make a reality of the Rescue Unit.
