Up to 30% have been reduced cases of animal abuse in the community, then that should be made known by the District Attorney’s office, Central Zone, that the mistreatment of a pet is a crime, generating fear and awareness in the citizenship, as was announced by ms. Diana Payán, head of the group “Friend of the Puppies Happy.”
Ms. Payan, indicated that in the past few months, there has been a decrease in cases of this nature, as in the people has woken up scared because of that they are applying sanctions to the point of hurting or even killing an animal.
“It has decreased up to 30% of the problematic in terms of animal abuse, since it has been started with the initiative that was approved by the Attorney, so that there has been a significant decrease,” he said.
Because the people already have the faculty to report any case of aggression toward their pets or any animal, the people have acquired a fear, since they can be punished even with jail.
“A person has the faculty to go to the Office and report the case, and be guilty of up to 6 years in prison, due to the damage generated, or simply become creditors to a financial sanction,” he said.
She explained that since the government of José Reyes Baeza, had taken action regarding this issue; however, it was in the past few months when we conducted the validation of the crime.
“Having an animal generates a great responsibility, because in many cases they take away the cat or dog, and a few days back to purchase another pet, causing it to re-present the problem,” he said.
