After four months of extensive days, the Municipality of Natal concluded the Program with success Thousand Sterilizations, achieving the proposed goal of operating 800 dogs and 200 cats, between males and females.
The initiative, which was funded by the Subdere and the logistical support of the humane Society “Faithful Friends”, ended their speeches last Thursday, July 27.
With respect to the operating canine, the mayor Fernando Walls had words of thanks mainly to the humane Society, the Subdere and the neighborhood boards of the populations Octavio Castro and Eduardo Frei.
“When we started the period alcaldicio one of the goals within the Plan Natales 2020 was the work responsible pet ownership, and this is an essential factor that we are running this year, thanks to the contribution and support of the deputy Secretary, Regional Development today we are celebrating two important facts,” he said.
In this context, the leader community said that the first fact was to “meet the goal of 1,000 sterilizations, and, second, is that we already have a municipal register of 2,500 pets enrolled, continuing this way on the record communal pets”, which will serve to identify them when walking down the street.
It also acknowledged the work carried out by the Society for the protection of Animals “Faithful Friends”, represented by its president, Maria Diaz, who received a distinction of part of Walls and city council members, highlighting their selfless work, commitment and support.
