More than a thousand 800 dogs were registered by their owners and already have their own national identity in the district of Wanchaq in the city of Cusco, this was announced by the Environmental manager of this municipality, Roberto Rojas Cespedes.
This initiative responds to the Program of Rescue Canine, which seeks to raise awareness among pet owners on the responsible tenure of the same which had participation of members of the College Veterinarian, the neighborhood boards in the district and the humane Society.
Red Cespedes reported that once the rescue of dogs in a state of abandonment, they are taken to the hostel of the district for de-worming, sterilization, and subsequent adoption.
The hostel has been prepared for the dogs in a state of neglect found in the local park Marianito Ferro in the Avenue Children of the province of Cusco.
The Environmental manager of the municipality of Wanchaq, also reported that the uptake of animals could be performed thanks to the students of animal science and biology from the university San Antonio Abad of Cusco, who since last year have been fulfilled with the registration of dogs in order to know how many animals there are in a situation of abandonment within the district.
