This Thursday was presented to the Sterilization Center, which will operate in the Canimóvil from the next few days.
During the launch, the secretary of municipal Health, Fernando Giacomino, he said that it is “one of the dreams that we had together with the Protective of Animals, which is to reduce the large amount of urban fauna that we have. This was one of the goals of our management.”
And he added: “In October we had launched the Canimóvil in a first stage with the veterinarian Luke (Peralta), who had performed vaccinations for rabies. Now the Center of Zoonosis will collaborate with the Sterilization Center Mobile, that’s going to work in the Canimóvil, performing surgeries for the barrios“.
In his turn explained that the mobile will come to the various neighborhood centers, where they will provide electric power to the various appliances that work within, such as the portable air conditioner, the machine for cutting hair or the fridge..
For his part, Roberto Ferrero, veterinary practitioner that participates in the initiative, stated that “the idea is to reach out to neighborhoods with the greatest need, and where most urban fauna there. There is a timeline to carry out a cycle in which it arrives at these places at the right time. Probably let’s start with The Milka, but there are still no dates or times set, we’re organizing”.
Ferrero, who clarified that the interventions will be carried out free of charge, both for dogs and for cats of both sexes, clarified that the animals will be held “a few minutes to achieve a mini recovery and can be delivered in the conditions”.
Finally Ignacio García Aresca, the mayor, thanked the Society for the protection of Animals and to the Center of Zoonosis, which works every day from 7 to 12.30 performing 12 castrations daily average.
