The mascot was adopted from a shelter the humane Society and had a great premiere on the Monday during the meeting that brought together various leaders of Europe and Africa in the French capital. Many soprprendió see how the dog, a mix of black labrador with grifón, walking with total comfort through the corridors and halls of the presidential palace, becoming the most sought after by photographers and journalists.
According to a report in Le Figaro, Macron was not long in falling in love with the dog once met him in the shelter. He called him “Nemo”, in honor of the captain from “Twenty thousand leagues under the sea submarine tour” of jules Verne, one of their favorite novels.
“For a president to take is an act unprecedented with a strong symbolism. Is the ‘first dog’ of France and we are very proud,” says Natacha Harry, president of the humane Society. The gesture of Macron has been applauded throughout France, which is the European country where the largest amount of dogs are abandoned.
