“We have to put on the agenda of the congress the rights of animals”
Deputy Victoria Donda was Friday past a table of working together with professionals and organisations protecting animals.
Participated in the Dr. Mary of Victories Gonzalez Silvano, owner of the subject Animal Law of the Law Faculty of the UBA; Dr. Susana Dascalaky, the Center for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Animal, and members of activist organizations such as Animal Rights, Foundation for the Rights of Animals t the Party Animal among others.
The meeting discussed the need to advance legislation that would recognize and expand the Rights of Animals, such as the prohibition of the traction to blood, the design of public policies on castration free of domestic animals, the criminalization of conduct such as the abandonment and bestiality, and the protection of wild animals, among other initiatives.
The member of parliament and chairperson of the commission of human rights considered: “this first work table has as its goal that the Congress put in discussion the legislative agenda of the professional and in the right of the animals and the organizations and activists in general. We believe, as stated Mahatma Gahndi, that the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which it treats its animals.”
