Organizations animal welfare convened a march to demand the implementation of the Animal Protection Law of the state, which provides from financial penalties to corporal punishment.
They recalled that there is a correlation between the violence that is perpetrated against animals and other forms of violence that culminated in attacks against the physical integrity of persons, including murder, and in this year in which have increased the deaths intentional in Zacatecas, pointed out that violence against animals has risen its incidence by 50 percent.
Therefore, they considered that the prosecution and punishment of the crime of animal abuse is a preventative measure to avoid the crime against human beings.
Since the establishment of the Federal Attorney general for Environmental Protection (Profepa) of the ministry of Water and Environment (SAMA), have been brought formally 10 complaints that have been neglected, as were other 50 that were reported to the Legal department of the same unit during the previous sexennium.
The go Say no to the animal abuse will start at 17 hours of this October 3 at the side of the Academic Unit of Law of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), and culminating, after touring the streets of the Historical Centre, in Plaza de Armas, where you will be required to appear before the 62 Legislature, the holder of SAMA, Víctor Armas Zagoya, and the procurator of environmental, Salvador Constantine.
The convening organizations are Animal Rescue (shelter), ProAyuda to the Animal to be Mistreated (PROAAM) BC and Ties Canines.
